SASO Includes New Product Scope To SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate (SIRC)

The process involves validation of the importers & manufacturers documents & product IECEE CB test reports. The supplier/importer should be the Authorized distributer of the product(s). Manufacturer’s Declaration of Conformity indicating the products and importer are required.

A valid IECEE Test Report issued by a CB Testing Laboratory (CBTL), which is an IECEE approved. Lab under the CB Scheme & a valid CB Test Certificate issued by a National Certification Body (NCB) are pre-requisites to obtain the SIRC.

The products covered under the SASO IECEE Recognition scheme are Smart Band & Smart watches, Power Bank, Mobile Phone Batteries, Mobile Phone Devices, Wireless Chargers for Mobile Phones, Laptops & Tablets, Television & Display Monitors, Dish Washers, Chargers for Mobile Phones, Household/domestic Electric pumps (under 3500 Watts), Car Chargers for Mobile Phones, Wireless Headphone, Earphones & similar products, Laptop Chargers (Electric transformer for Laptop), Lighting products and their control gears, Solar Panel & Electronic Smoking Devices.

With effect from 1^st of July 2021, the below products are added to the current scope of regulated products as listed above in line with efforts to control & protect the market from high risks & counterfeit devices & equipment and to protect  consumers from imported products that do not conform with the standards:

1. Electrical cooking utensils like water boilers, all coffee makers of all kinds
2. Electric oil fryers
3. Electric pumps with a capacity of 5 horsepower or less for all uses
4. Electric power cables
5. Video game consoles and their accessories such as video game consoles, controllers, wireless headsets, chargers and their accessories
