Gulf States GCC Certification from SGS ensures toys comply with requirements for sale and distribution in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
Since January 2014, toys entering the GCC market have been required to comply with the GCC Technical Regulation on Children’s Toys (BD-131704-01). Compliant toys are required to display the GCC conformity quality mark, the G-Mark. This applies to all toys intended for use in play by children under 14 years of age.
Partner with SGS to bring safe and compliant toys to the GCC countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. We have Notified Bodies and laboratories approved by the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) to test and certify toys against the legislative requirements for qualification of the G-Mark. Our experts can help you to carry the necessary sampling, testing and certification efficiently and professionally.
What is the GCC certification process?
- The domestic manufacturer or importer applies to a Notified Body (such as SGS)
- Toys are tested to the GCC Technical Regulation on Children’s Toys (BD-13170-01) by an approved laboratory and certified by a Notified Body
- On successful completion of the toy assessment, the domestic manufacturer or importer will receive a certificate and place the G-Mark on the product and/or its packaging
