SGS is pleased to announce that we have joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative, a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.
By joining this initiative, SGS stands united with thousands of forward-thinking companies around the world committed to taking responsible business action to create a better world for present and future generations.
The UN Global Compact urges companies across industries to align their strategies and operations with 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Since 2000, the UN Global Compact has become the world's most extensive corporate sustainability initiative. More than 15,000 companies and over 3,800 non-business signatories spanning across 160 countries have embraced this initiative. Additionally, the Global Compact has forged more than 69 local networks, facilitating collaboration and amplifying impact on a local scale.
This significant step aligns with SGS's ongoing commitment to fostering positive change through its services and operations. SGS continues to champion responsible practices that yield tangible value for communities, economies, and the planet.
Commenting on this milestone, Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS, shared, "Joining the United Nations Global Compact reflects our dedication to shaping a sustainable future. We are excited to collaborate with like-minded organizations to drive positive change and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals."
Toby Reeks, SVP of Corporate Communications, Sustainability and Investor Relations added, "Our dedication to the UN's principles aligns with our Sustainability Ambitions 2030, driving us forward on our journey to create a better, safer and more interconnected world."
