The certificates were handed over by Mr. Roy Skaria, Managing Director for SGS Saudi Arabia & Bahrain to Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hawary, CEO of Dhaman Medical Disinfectant Company. Also present in the ceremony was Dr. Sayed Shehata, Factory Manager at Dhaman Medical Disinfectant Company.
On accepting the ISO certificates, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hawary emphasized that this achievement would increase customer and stakeholder confidence in the quality and safety of the company's products, systems and services: "In Dhaman Company, quality is our goal. Our factory is the first in the Kingdom of Bahrain licensed by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) complying with international standards. To be pioneers in the field of manufacturing disinfectants and medical devices, and to be committed to continuous development is what distinguishes us to achieve and maintain these goals. We have chosen SGS as our certification body which is the leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company in the world."
For the past decades, the market has been aware of the many advantages of an effective quality management system and the importance of certifying it based on ISO 9001, which has become a fundamental requirement to ensure commitment to meeting demands for quality. ISO 13485 standard sets the basis for a quality management system for organizations involved in the life cycle of a medical device. Certification demonstrates an organization’s commitment to meeting customer requirements and supports regulatory compliance in many jurisdictions. ISO 13485 is applicable to all manufacturers and providers of medical devices, component manufacturers, contract service providers and distributors of medical devices. These ISO 9001 QMS and ISO 13485 MDD certifications, along with that of ISO 22716 GMP, demonstrate the commitment of Dhaman towards continuous improvement through the application of the standard requirements.
Roy Skaria, Managing Director for SGS Saudi Arabia & Bahrain, said: “This certification demonstrates the commitment of Dhaman Medical team to ensure continuous improvement through the application of these international standard requirements. This is very crucial and relevant during these unprecedented times and we at SGS are proud to be chosen as their certification body.” SGS and Dhaman Medical team will continue collaborating on future third-party certifications that will help enhance stakeholder and customer trust.
SGS has a wide range of regulatory approvals, combined with a global accreditation from United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and close links with medical authorities which ensures certification requirements are met effectively.
