One of the significant challenges businesses face in international trade is the complex and time-consuming process of obtaining and managing ATA Carnets for temporary exports. The traditional paper-based forms are cumbersome and can be lost during transit. The eATA Carnet project has now progressed to a live pilot, with the first ever eATA applied for using SGS eCERT.
Simplifying trade and streamlining export-import processes
In association with UK National ATA Carnet Organisation (UKNATACO) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), SGS has further developed the ATA Carnet application within its eCERT product to support the eATA Carnet. The pilot of digital carnets, led by United Kingdom, Belgium, Canada, China and Switzerland, advances the processing of ATA Carnets greatly, by removing paper-based forms with a mobile app. Visibility and security are enhanced for both the Holder and Customs.
eCERT: digitalizing certificates for seamless trade
In the last 3 years, ATA Carnet’s processed by the SGS eCERT application have reliably handled over GBP 3.1 billion worth of goods.
eCERT is a secure and user-friendly platform that allows businesses to access, manage and share their certificates online. This groundbreaking technology simplifies the process of obtaining ATA Carnets making it faster and more efficient. It reduces the need for physical paperwork, enabling businesses to trade smoothly and with confidence.
ATA Carnets: simplifying temporary exports
Businesses can now apply for ATA Carnets online, saving time and reducing administrative burdens. SGS provides comprehensive support through eCERT, ensuring a smooth process from application to the use of ATA Carnets. This service not only eases the logistical challenges of temporary exports but also contributes to cost savings and greater efficiency.
