SGS Improves Client Services, Adds Capacity with Two New Geochemistry Laboratories in Australia

MiningSeptember 14, 2022

SGS is delighted to announce the opening of two new geochemistry laboratories in Australia, in Mt. Isa, Queensland and Orange, New South Wales.

Each laboratory benefits from state-of-the-art equipment for sample preparation, including an Orbis crusher that has full stage crushing capability, in addition to full pulverization, wet and dry screening, and soil sample preparation. All of which save time and improve sample turnaround times.

Adding to SGS’s geochemistry testing capacity in Australia, these two new sample preparation facilities will further enhance SGS’s geographical reach in the country. This investment is key to Australia’s mining industry which is worth approximately 10% of the country’s economy and 68% of its export revenues.

Orange, New South Wales

Opened in July 2022, this new laboratory is up and running, delivering first class geochemistry testing services to clients across the country.

Mount Isa, Queensland

Opening this month (September) our Mt. Isa laboratory welcomes new inquiries and will be delivering a full range of sample preparation and testing services soon.

Mark Davidson, SGS National Sales & Business Development Manager, said: “We are excited to launch two new facilities adding significantly more capacity to improve client services. Our recent investments will also strengthen our technical expertise and insights to make them more accessible to clients in Australia. Our customers will now benefit from improved service standards, including faster turnaround times, cost reductions and lower carbon emissions.
