Amidst growing demand for chemical testing, and with China now the second largest pharma market in the world, SGS has opened a new lab in Qingdao to provide chemical testing services to organizations based in the north of the country.
The 1,500 m2 lab, which has recently received ISO 17025 accreditation, is able to provide a range of services:
- Pharmaceutical and raw materials testing
- Drug packaging materials testing
- Medical device testing
- Medical consumable testing
- Extractable and leachable testing
Staffed with 45 full-time employees, the lab provides customers based in the region with convenient direct services and rapid turnaround times. Our staff prioritize quality assurance and quality control, ensuring all activities are executed in line with both client and regulatory requirements.
The lab also boasts a variety of state-of-the-art analytical equipment, including gas chromatograph-mass spectrometers (GC-MS), gas and liquid chromatographic systems (GC, HPLC), high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) equipment.
"Thanks to our increased chemical testing capabilities, we're now better placed than ever to work closely with leading pharmaceutical organizations and help the burgeoning Chinese market flourish. We can't wait to see what the future holds," added Lam Wai, Health Science Director SGS China.
In addition, the lab will soon provide even more services, as the construction of a new, adjoining 1,600 m2 microbiology lab has just begun.
