SGS Offers Enhanced Automated Immunoassay Testing at Poitiers Laboratory

SGS gains enhanced testing capabilities with advanced ELISA equipment and the Gyrolab xPlore system.

 We are pleased to announce two new key investments at our newly expanded bioanalytical laboratory in Poitiers, France: the Freedom EVO 200 ELISA system for large-volume ELISA testing, and the Gyrolab xPlore system for carrying out nanoliter-scale immunoassay tests.

Freedom EVO 200 ELISA

This cutting-edge robotics platform automates large-scale microplate-based ELISA testing. This addition increases our testing capacity and allows us to maintain exceptional quality and reliability standards.

While a technician can analyze two 96-well testing plates per day, the robotics platform can analyze eight 96-well plates. Furthermore, as it operates overnight, the total daily throughput is 16 plates per day – an eight-times increase.

We regularly handle large-scale studies that often involve thousands of samples. This new robotics platform will allow us to remove the need for labor-intensive sample preparation, improving the scale, reliability and quality of testing.

Gyrolab xPlore

The new equipment allows us to overcome common issues observed with clinical and pre-clinical studies in several key areas, providing a range of benefits, such as:

• Faster testing: automate most stages of testing, speeding up the testing process
• Smaller sample volume (50 microliters or less) to answer specific needs: e.g., pediatric studies, rare matrices, etc.
• Reduced need for manual pipetting:  high-precision fully automated sampling in immunoassays, significantly improving test reliability, robustness and reproducibility
• Elimination of edge effect: a disk-shaped sampling plate prevents evaporation, eliminating the edge effect and improving test reliability
