The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) regulation addresses carbon leakage from products, goods, derivatives and certain precursors imported into the European Union and aims to equalize the carbon cost of imported products with that of domestic products.
When fully in place from January 2026, the system will impose charges on goods which originate from sources which do not operate equivalent climate regulations. Knowledge and having compliance processes in place will be critical for producers of goods in scope of CBAM in protecting your sales to EU customers.
