SGS is thrilled to announce that its connectivity laboratory in Bengaluru, India, has been accepted by the IEC System for Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE) to operate as a CB Testing Laboratory (CBTL) under the responsibility of NCB SGS Testing & Control Services Singapore Pte Ltd (SGS) as National Certification Body (NCB).
This approval means SGS can carry out testing for the safety of electrical and electronic components, equipment and products covered under HOUS and ITAV product categories. This acceptance was received on May 23, 2024.
The IECEE CB Scheme is an international agreement aimed at facilitating trade by aligning national standards with international standards and fostering cooperation among globally recognized certification bodies. This achievement brings manufacturers one step closer to the ideal of one product, one test, one mark, where applicable.
SGS’s accreditation empowers it to broaden its services to manufacturers seeking to launch their products in international markets. It also streamlines global trade of electrical and electronic products by eliminating redundant testing, given that SGS's test results are now accepted across all participating countries.
