SGS Shared Carbon Footprint Best Practices at the WWF Session in Lahore

SGS was invited to participate to the technical session in Lahore, Pakistan, in the framework of the project “International Labor and Environmental Standards Application in Pakistan’s SMEs (ILES)”. The event was attended by prominent Pakistani textile and leather industry players.

The ILES project started in 2016 and has been funded by the European Union. The project aims at promoting sustainable growth of textile and leather sectors in Pakistan by improving their compliance with international standards, and adoption of smart environmental management practices is part of it.

In April 2023, WWF-Pakistan being the implementation partner of the ILES project organized an insightful event covering various sustainability topics.

Experts from SGS Pakistan Mr Ali Hashim and Ms Kanwal Shehzadi had the honor to contribute to this fruitful discussion. They shared best practices on how companies from textile and leather sectors can reduce their carbon footprint and what are the international ESG reporting requirements.
Fighting with climate change is one of the conditions for Pakistan to renew its GSP+ status, as it’s valid until the end of 2023. We are happy to share our GHG expertise and make our best to help local businesses integrate into the global market.
