SGS Pakistan successfully conducted a comprehensive one-day training course on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Fundamentals and the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Framework. The event took place in Karachi, with various companies nominating their employees for this unique certification.
The course was meticulously organized by the SGS Team and a Trainer from Business Assurance services from SGS Pakistan. The primary aim of this session was to introduce participants to managing ESG concerns within their organizations.
The course content covered understanding the impact of ESG on an organization, identifying stakeholders by relationship type, and understanding how stakeholders can affect and be affected by the organization and its ESG concerns. Participants were also educated on the concept of materiality and the benefits of sustainability reporting according to the GRI standard 2021.
The structure of the GRI standard was thoroughly discussed, with case studies used to provide a practical understanding of the GRI reporting procedure and standard. The course also covered essential topics of human rights and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the GRI context.
