Intentional adulteration of food can cause widespread harm to public health. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to conduct vulnerability assessments that consider the three fundamental elements outlined in the Intentional Adulteration (IA) rule.
Course Details
On completion of this course, you will have the knowledge to:
- Understand what a food defense plan (FDP) is
- Understand Intentional Adulteration (IA) and why it is important
- Understand the purpose and requirements of Vulnerability Assessments (VA), including the VA steps
- Identify the key activity types (KAT)
- Identify what an inside attacker is and the threats they pose
- Identify significant vulnerabilities of the four KATs
- Explain what the three fundamental elements are and identify how they should be evaluated
- Analyze and score the evaluations of the three fundamental elements
- Use this information to identify significant vulnerabilities
- Identify actionable process steps using the hybrid approach: combining the key activity types and the three fundamental elements
- Minimize accessibility of the product to an inside attacker
- Reducing the ability of an inside attacker to contaminate the product
In order to adapt to your learning style and needs, this course is available as classroom based, virtual instructor led training (VILT). Depending on the selected method, this course can be delivered over 1 day or 8 hours.
Course certification
On completion of this course, you will be issued a “Certificate of Attendance”.
Prerequisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course. However, this training is directed to those who are subject to the Intentional Adulteration (IA) requirements of 21 CFR part 121.
