Join SGS and other industry experts from around the world to discuss the widespread and versatile effects of microbes in oil reservoirs.
Our Microbiology expert, Matthew Snape, joins an impressive line-up of industry speakers at the RMF 2020 to give his presentation on Microbial and Geochemistry Impact Assessment for Carbon Capture, Usage and Storage (CCUS).
Presentation date: November 11, 2020
Presentation time: 14:35 - 14:55 (GMT)
CCUS is a key component of net zero attainment and for these projects to be feasible a new emphasis for technology development and research collaboration is critical to review potential microbial interactions and operational risk assessments during project development. One aspect that several projects have overlooked is the role of subsurface microbes and their impact to storage feasibility.
This presentation will provide an industry update and build on previous research articles and methodologies published to date on the key microbial risk considerations during CCUS projects. Its focus will be to guide the audience through the industry challenges and value opportunities.
