Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Achieved ISO 9001 Certification from SGS

Minister Al-Kharabsheh emphasized the importance of the ISO 9001 certification for the Ministry in supporting and developing its work based on documented and consistent procedures, achieving sustainability in work, and reducing costs, expenses, and effort. He expressed his pride in the achievement made by the Ministry through the efforts of the internal auditing team during the preparatory stage and their observations, which enabled the Ministry to take corrective actions in line with international best practices. He thanked SGS for the efforts made during the certification audit.

Al-Kharabsheh highlighted the Ministry's determination to address the energy challenge facing the world today and its impact on various sectors, indicating the necessity of cooperation and concerted efforts between the Ministry, sector institutions, private entities, civil society organizations, and citizens to turn challenges into opportunities. He expressed his optimism about the future of energy in Jordan, aiming to transition from an energy-importing country to a source of green and renewable energy.

The Certification Manager at SGS Jordan, Engineer Ahmed Al-Khwaja, considered the certification as an important step enabling the Ministry to implement its general policy, represented by its vision, mission, and strategic objectives, and ensuring the continuity of its development work. He praised the support of the senior management in the Ministry, represented by the Minister and the Secretary-General, and their keenness to achieve the Ministry's certification.

The certification reception ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Engineer Amani Al-Azzam, directors of organizational units and the internal auditing team from the Ministry, and Engineer Bilal Ababneh, the auditing team leader from SGS Jordan.
