Through this major contract, SGS will serve as the certification and pre-assessment auditor for 12 key ISO standards across Kuwait’s prominent upstream oil companies, including KPC (Kuwait Petroleum Corporation), KOC (Kuwait Oil Company), KOTC (Kuwait Oil Tanker Company), KUFPEC (Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company), and KGOC (Kuwait Gulf Oil Company).
This agreement reflects the mutual aim to enhance operational excellence, promote sustainability, and uphold the highest standards of compliance across the oil and gas industry in Kuwait. The ISO certification process will support K-Companies in meeting both local and international regulatory requirements while reinforcing their commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
Scope of services and deliverables
The scope of the project covers a comprehensive range of twelve ISO standards critical to the industry, specifically designed to address areas of quality, environmental management, safety, risk, and IT service management. The certification scope is going to include the following standards:

- ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System
- ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management System
- ISO 27001 – Information Security Management System
- ISO 50001 – Energy Management System
- ISO 31000 – Risk Management System
- ISO 26000 – Social Responsibility
- ISO 20000 – Information Technology Service Management
- ISO 10002 – Customer Satisfaction, Complaints Handling
- ISO 10015 – Guidelines for Competence Management and People Development
- ISO 22301 – Business Continuity Management Systems
- ISO 29001 – Petroleum, Petrochemical, and Natural Gas Industries Quality Management System
These standards cover the full spectrum of critical operational areas and address core aspects that align with the companies’ goals of resilience, customer satisfaction, and environmental sustainability.
