To ensure the safety and quality of food products entering the Qatar market, the Ministry of Public Health – Food Safety Department (MoPH – FSD) of the State of Qatar has implemented a PVoC program. Qatar’s Conformity Assessment of Food Scheme requires all consignments of regulated products imported into the country to be checked and issued with a certificate of conformity (CoC). This certificate verifies that products comply with the requirements of all applicable standards and technical regulations.
The MoPH – FSD has approved SGS as a certification body for all regulated consignments of foods or beverages destined for Qatar. We can perform a PVoC assessment and issue a CoC.
Regulated products under this scheme include:
- Meat and meat products
- GMO products
- Prepackaged foods
- Spices
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Seafood
- Processed foods
- Dairy products
- Vegetable oils
- Honey
The regulatory mandate is subject to the country of origin for corresponding applicable product categories.
What is the process?
- You submit your application to us
- We perform a review and assessment
- When applicable, we provide testing and inspection services
- We issue your CoC
