Over three years ago, the largest SGS analytical laboratory in the Caspian Region began operating in the city of Balkhash.
It was opened in 2020 at the site of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP of the Balkhash Processing Plant and provides a large number of analytical services: starting with sample preparation and ending with instrumental analysis using modern high-precision analytical equipment.
The main goal of the SGS laboratory in Balkhash is to provide reliable test results, which allow the client to make the right design decisions and achieve their goals.
The laboratory provides a wide range of tests for both rocks, ores, geological samples, and products of the copper and gold ore processing industry.
In addition to testing samples, the laboratory develops, implements and validates new analysis methods in accordance with the customer's requirements.
Today it is already a stable functioning and developing mechanism with a large team of professionals:
- on an area of more than 2500 sq. m. The most modern analytical and sample preparation equipment is located here;
- more than 100 employees analyze about 30 different types of objects (rocks and ores, concentrates, technological products, solutions and finished products of copper industries);
- the most demanded national and interstate standards, global SGS methodologies and methods developed and approved in the GSI RK on the basis of global methodologies have been implemented.
Most recently, in mid-October, the laboratory confirmed its high level and compliance with the requirements of GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2019, having passed inspection control with the expansion of the scope of accreditation by the International Laboratory Accreditation (ILAC).
