Four surveyors from SGS Pakistan have completed the internationally recognized training “Dry Bulk Cargoes Surveying” by Lloyds Maritime Institute. The course lasted 2 months.
SGS highly focuses on identification of need-based trainings and nominates employees for relevant trainings programs on regular basis as the purpose is to bring efficiency in performing day-to-day tasks.
The Dry Bulk Cargoes Surveying course undertaken by Pakistani inspectors included techniques related to:
- draft survey to determine cargo’s quantity
- hold inspections for cargo suitability and water tightness
- pre-shipment surveys
- cargo inspections
- cargo sampling
Participating in this training program has not only provided our colleagues in-depth knowledge regarding critical supervisory tool during loading and unloading a bulk carrier (such as coal or ore) but also enabled them to go beyond the expectations of clients.
