SGS has been selected by Liontown Resources to establish an on-site laboratory at its Kathleen Valley project in Western Australia. Liontown Resources, a pioneering player in the rapidly growing global lithium and tantalum industry, will have direct access to streamlined sample preparation and analytical services on the mine site.
This announcement further builds on SGS's extensive lithium experience with projects assisting miners to optimize their lithium operations around the world, supporting the global battery metals supply chain.
By conducting on-site lithium analysis and testing, Liontown Resources will have real-time access to critical information, enabling optimized production processes, ensuring premium product quality, and minimizing environmental impact. SGS's laboratory located in Kalgoorlie, will further support the partnership by providing first class analytical testing.
The on-site laboratory supports Liontown Resources' Kathleen Valley Lithium and Tantalum Project, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to innovation, excellence, and sustainability within the critical minerals industry. Mining at Kathleen Valley will predominately be underground, allowing direct access to higher grade mineralization while minimizing waste and the environmental footprint of the project.
