The new Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) scheme MS 2530:2022 was recently revised to incorporate global sustainable practices and requirements. The new framework serves to enhance palm oil products promotion internationally and counteracts negative perception of palm oil.
Some of the changes include addition of Protocol 29 of the International Labour Organization (an indicator for labour and ethical conduct), greenhouse gas emissions measurement method, as well as traceability and legality of fresh fruit bunches.
