Protect your cargo
Cleanliness inspections are a reliable and independent way to assess the condition and integrity of a ship’s hold and the effectiveness of the hatch before your cargo is loaded. They ensure cargos are protected from contamination and help you to build confidence with contractual partners.
Hold inspections
During a hold inspection, our inspectors verify that it has been properly cleaned after the previous cargo. They will photograph, document and report on any anomalies, examine the ship’s log to confirm that any previous load will not put your cargo at risk and check for signs of water/moisture damage, rust, paint chips and discoloration in all areas, including inaccessible ones. Upon completion of a successful inspection, they will issue an internationally recognized cleanliness certificate.
Hatch inspections
During a hatch inspection, our inspectors provide assurance that cover seals and securing arrangements will not cause cargo defects and rejections. Visual inspections at departure and arrival can also be made to ensure seals have functioned correctly and the hatches remained watertight. They will check for obvious signs of damage that may affect the cargo. Chalk, hose and ultrasonic leak detection (ULD) tests are available, if required, for objective assessment and verification.
