SGS organized an exclusive awareness session for the stakeholders of Lakhra and Jhimpir Coal, including government officials, mine owners, traders, power producers, cement industry and other end users.
The event taking place on 9 June 2023 in Hyderabad, Pakistan, aimed to provide valuable market information and highlight SGS modern technological solutions for the Pakistani coal sector.
The session was led by Abdul Razzak Lakhani (Managing Director of SGS Pakistan) and Syed Faseeh (Minerals Services Business Manager).
Experts from SGS Pakistan’s Natural Resources Division gave an overview of services for the coal sector such as:
- Satellite mapping,
- Geological surveys,
- Geophysical surveys,
- Mine assessment for coal quality with important parameters,
- Mineral exploration and mine development.
The geological and geophysical surveys were detailed by Mr Moin ul Haque (SGS Senior Geologist) along with his team of professionals
SGS coal testing capabilities in Pakistan were showcased by Mr Zeeshan Shafi (Coal Laboratory Incharge).
Two prominent guest speakers shared their insights that was much appreciated by the audience:
- Mr Ashraf Mallah (Deputy General Manager at Sindh Lakhra Coal Mining Company) spoke about "Lakhra & Jhimpir Coal Utilization in Local Industries."
- Mr Sayed Farrukh Jameel (Regional Mining Engineer at Muhammad Ameen & Brother) expressed his views on "Coal Mining Optimization in Lakhra & Jhimpir."
This session served as a platform for industry players to enhance their knowledge about the evolving coal market trends and gain insights into cutting-edge technologies that can drive operational efficiency.
