SGS Certification and Business Enhancement CBE division kicks off 2020 with learning sessions

The first training rolled out was the Data Privacy Foundation course which is an annual mandatory training for all SGS employees. The training was a condensed version of the two-day course offered by SGS Academy entitled “The Data Privacy Act of 2012 and Using ISO standards as a Roadmap”.  As a certification body and training academy, SGS employees are information processors for personal data derived from client data sheets, audit and training reports. Safeguarding and proper handling of personal data are key priorities of SGS.

In line with digitization and marketing activities of the division, Website Familiarization and Intranet Training sessions were conducted by the CBE Marketing team. The sessions ensured that tools online (website functionalities and web assets) are maximized to support employees on their presentations, meetings and information requirements.

A Friday late afternoon was also allotted for a Yoga session to those who signed-up. The session was led by a former client who carries on the relationship with SGS through sharing of expertise on the activity. The Yoga session aimed to educate employees on specific poses which could be done to help destress, improve mental health and physical well-being.

An introduction to ISO 50001:2018 was also conducted by the Certification Manager for Energy, Environment, Health & Safety of SGS, to align front liners about the latest updates on the Energy Management System standard.

It was a fruitful start for the Certification and Business Enhancement division as it continues to empower its employees through training, to enhance personal and professional growth in SGS.
