Since the start of the quarantine in 2020, SGS Academy introduced its VILT courses via Zoom and intensified its existing eLearning portfolio to support Learning and Development during a pandemic.
VILT took around a month to take-off, as SGS Academy prepared its backend and frontend systems, processes and people. The introduction of VILT challenged the training delivery in terms of the current state of internet connectivity in the country, hardware, platform preference, course design, execution of online workshops and exams. All challenges were addressed with the support of the SGS Global Training team in the UK, experts from other SGS Academy Worldwide Centers of Excellence, feedback from clients / Learners, other Global teams and the internal teams (of Auditors, Tutors and Learning Services experts).
VILT is now ranked in the top five preferred modalities for all training topics. As more of the working life is transferred online and with the adaptation to this form of training and support, it must be assumed VILT, eLearning or Blended learning will remain a vital aspect of any Learning & Development strategy.
SGS Academy has gone a long way with VILT. From April to December 2020 with 196 VILT courses executed for 2,896 Learners, the first two months of 2021 already show a big increase on the VILT courses done and the number of Learners per class. Majority of the VILT courses delivered in 2021 are exclusive runs for organizations across various industries.
The current year continues to be very promising to Learners as SGS Academy’s aims to deliver its commitment for continual improvement in the execution of its virtual training courses. Expect new courses to be launched per quarter, new eLearning modules and bundled packages to be offered and more interactive activities in every VILT course.
