Optimizing your geochemistry tests and yielding accurate data can be challenging. That is why we offer physical testing in your geochemistry testing program for the best results.
Why use physical geochemistry testing from SGS?
We enable you to:
- Determine the specific gravity and bulk density of rocks, ores and aggregates
- Measure particle sizes at very low levels with laser diffraction
Why SGS?
We are the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, recognized as the global benchmark for sustainability, quality and integrity.
Density of rock property can be defined in several different ways and impacts the nature of the test performed. Along with grade and volume, this is an important consideration when developing metallurgical flowsheets and calculating the exact weight of concentrate and tonnages for mineral resource estimation. We can determine the specific gravity and bulk density of rocks, ores and aggregates.
The particle size will determine the most appropriate testing method. We offer particle size analysis by wet screening, dry screening, or a combination or both or laser diffraction.
Wet and dry methods are often combined because wet screening removes excessive fines, while dry screening removes the oversize. Laser diffraction is recommended for very fine-grained samples, as it is capable of measuring particle sizes at very low levels.
