EDGE Expert Certification

EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is a green building certification system developed by the IFC. It provides a software tool to identify sustainable building solutions, estimate costs, and assess savings in energy, water, and material usage.

EDGE uses location-specific data for thousands of cities, streamlining the certification process with pre-prepared documentation, saving time and resources. It ensures compliance with global technical and green finance standards, enhancing the marketing value of projects.

IFC-accredited EDGE Experts guide projects through the certification process, ensuring they meet green standards. Their expertise in sustainable design inspires clients to aim for fully certified, eco-friendly portfolios.

DfGE Certification

DfGE (Designing for Greater Efficiency) is a certification course offered by the IFC aimed at promoting low-carbon, sustainable construction. It focuses on equipping professionals like architects and engineers with skills to design resource-efficient buildings using EDGE software.

The course includes real-world case studies and practical examples, teaching participants how to integrate energy-efficient practices into designs while addressing both technical and commercial aspects of sustainability. Participants learn how to effectively market their green designs and align them with global sustainability goals. The certification highlights a commitment to lowering carbon footprints in building practices.

Over three months, Mehdi mastered EDGE software, applied its principles to real-life projects, passed the assessment, and earned the DfGE certification.

BRI Certification

The Building Resilience Index (BRI), developed by IFC, is a web-based tool that evaluates and discloses a building’s resilience to natural disasters. It helps developers assess risks, improve resilience, and transparently report these measures.

As urban growth increases and climate change heightens natural disaster risks, resilient building design becomes critical. The BRI helps mitigate the impact of disasters, ensuring long-term asset protection and reducing costs associated with recovery.

BRI complements the IFC’s EDGE program by addressing climate adaptation alongside mitigation. It encourages professionals to pair resilience strategies with efficiency measures to achieve greater sustainability.

Mehdi diligently mastered the BRI framework, passed the assessment, and earned this prestigious certification, further enhancing his expertise in resilient building practices.
