Saudi Arabia’s imported ceramic tile market is worth USD 2.37 billion, by the end of June 2024, according to the Saudi Customs Authority, and offers lucrative opportunities for business. However, products offered onto markets in the Kingdom must comply with strict regulations, and failure to adhere to these rules may result in penalties and delays.
This complimentary webinar introduces the Saudi Quality Mark (SQM), which covers all ceramic tile products including porcelain. Under the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization’s (SAS) Technical Regulation for Building Materials, Part 4: Bricks, Tiles, Ceramics, Sanitary Ware and Related Products, all ceramic tile products must obtain the SQM before entering or being offered onto the Kingdom’s markets.
The SQM mandate of September 13, 2019, requires traders to conform to the ISO/IEC 17065 international quality standard.
This webinar provides a valuable introduction to the compliance process, which includes online application, document review and factory audits. Attendees will also learn about the significance of the SQM and its benefits for business, as well as the steps involved in certification. Presenters Ziyad Alshaikh and Adriana Gomes will also answer questions and take delegates through SGS’s expert conformity assessment services.
