SGS, the world's leading inspection, testing and certification company, is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a contract to open and operate a new on-site geochemistry laboratory at North Mara, Barrick Gold's mine located in the Tarime district of the Mara region, Tanzania.
The new 2025 sqm on-site laboratory will be equipped to provide sample preparation, analytical testing, and fire assay, using the state-of-the-art PhotonAssay technology, a non-destructive, environmentally friendly method. The facility will be run by a dedicated team of 67 full-time SGS employees, ensuring efficient operation and high-quality service.
