With the development of the Saudi Product Safety Program (SALEEM), SASO has implemented SABER, an electronic conformity assessment platform. SASO encourages the Trade to use this platform to request and obtain both Product and Shipment Certificates for goods falling under SASO Technical Regulations, and to request and obtain a Self Declaration and a Shipment Certificate for goods not covered by any SASO Technical Regulation.
At SGS, we offer various services to help clients through the process of complying with Saudi Technical Regulations and Saudi Standards. Depending on the nature of the product, SGS may assist you by:
- Acting as a SASO-accredited Certification Body to issue Product Certificates and handle Shipment Certificates for all products covered by a Technical Regulation in all regions of the world
- Populating the SABER system with all the products the importer intends to bring to the local Saudi Market; it is mandatory that these be registered into SABER before a Product Certificate can be issued
- Issuing Technical Assessment reports for products not falling under any Technical Regulation, to back up any claims of compliance to relevant Saudi standards
SGS is a SASO-accredited Certification Body and has been assisting SASO and the Ministry of Commerce and Investment with product conformity assessment matters for more than 12 years.
Our extensive experience in managing conformity assessment programs around the world enables us to offer efficient, comprehensive and tailored solutions to exporters and make sure their shipments are in conformity with applicable requirements.
