Vehicle and vehicle component manufacturers are obliged to prove their products match the specification, performance and marking requirements set out in the original type approval documentation. This is called Conformity of Production (COP) certification and is a key part of the homologation process.
SGS Conformity of Production (COP) tests
We carry out COP tests for all manufacturers of vehicles and vehicle components at our own or third-party laboratories or at your own facilities, if preferred.
As well as testing on the production line, it is necessary to re-test throughout the lifetime of each vehicle type. These re-tests can be performed by the manufacturer or by outsourcing to companies such as SGS.
