The Auto Industry is undergoing rapid change to meet many of today’s demands. The IATF has issued the Rules 6th edition, which outlines new rules for auditing and certification bodies (CBs). While the major impact of these changes affects the CBs, there will be some adjustments that have a direct bearing on organizations certified to IATF 16949. Other challenges in the industry include cybersecurity and the increasing complexity and vulnerabilities in today’s connected vehicles. The industry has developed a series of solutions, including TISAX, ISO/SAE 21434, and the newest, ENX VCS. But what are the differences and similarities, and when to use which?

Objective

  • Provide a high-level overview of the Rules 6th edition changes that directly impact those certified to IATF 16949
  • Clarify the approaches to protect the automotive industry from information and cybersecurity vulnerabilities, as well as providing solutions currently available to help tackle these challenges, including:
  • Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX)
  • ISO/SAE 21434 Road Vehicles – Cybersecurity Engineering
  • ENX – VCS – Vehicle Cyber Security scheme

Agenda

  • Rules 6th edition overview as it impacts organizations seeking or maintaining IATF 16949 certification
  • Information security and cybersecurity vulnerabilities
  • Cybersecurity solutions currently available
