SGS Wins a SIG Energy Transition Award

June 13, 2022

SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is very pleased to be a winner of the 2022 SIG Energy Transition Awards for its commitment to and achievements in energy transition management at its headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland).

Committed to SIG's eco21 program since 2012, SGS's headquarters has achieved cumulative electricity savings of 1.08 Gigawatt hours over the last ten years. This is equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 200 households. With its IMPULSE project dedicated to the redesign of the offices, SGS has updated lights with LED technology, reduced its printer fleet and optimized the building's automation, heat production and air conditioning, significantly improving energy performance.

"We are very proud to win this award today in recognition of our commitment to a more sustainable world. We will continue to actively contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and thus preserve our city of Geneva for our future generations," says Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS.

This recognition once again confirms that Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is deeply ingrained in SGS’s corporate culture, and its position as an internationally recognized leader in sustainability. SGS’s internal Energy Efficiency in Buildings program helps the company optimize energy consumption across its facilities and sets the strategy for the achievement of its goal of decarbonizing the building portfolio. It is the result of the efforts of all employees who work every day to make SGS a better and more sustainable company.
