SG 21/23
An updated list of standards that gives presumption of conformity with Decree 91-1292 relating to the prevention of risks arising from the use of childcare articles has been published to the French Official Journal, on February 2, 2023.
This list includes the latest publication of the following standards:
- NF EN 1888 + A1: 2022 – Childcare articles – Wheeled child conveyances – Part 1: Pushchairs and prams
- NF EN 716-1 + AC: 2019 – Furniture – Children’s cots and folding cots for domestic use – Part 1: Safety requirements
In order to ensure a smooth transitional period, the text specifies that it will still be possible to produce or import articles that conform to the previous standards until December 1, 2023; and that it will be possible to sell out all stocks already constituted.
To facilitate the exchange of products, standards adopted by national standardization bodies of EU member states and state parties to the Agreement establishing the European Economic Area, or of Turkey, and transposing the corresponding European standards, shall be recognized as equivalent.
It is important to note that newer versions of European standards listed in this publication, when published in the Official Journal of the European Union, will also give presumption of conformity to the Decree.
