SG 113/23
The ECHA has launched a 45-day consultation for listing six chemicals as substances of very high concern (SHVC). Comments are accepted until October 16, 2023.
On September 1, 2023, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) launched a 45-day consultation period over the listing of six chemicals as substances of very high concern (SVHC). Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) was added to the Candidate List in 2008 for reason of ‘toxic for reproduction’ and ‘endocrine disrupting properties – human health’. The proposed listing of DBP is due to ‘endocrine disrupting properties – environment’. If approved, the number of SVHC on the Candidate List will expand from 235 to 240 entries.
According to ECHA, comments will be accepted until October 16, 2023.
Highlights of the six chemicals are summarized in Table 1.
