SGS is proud to announce its inclusion in the prestigious list of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies of 2024, as compiled by TIME and data firm Statista. SGS was ranked 6th out of 500 corporates globally and holds the number one position in the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector.
The rigorous and transparent methodology developed by TIME and Statista evaluated over 5,000 companies based on factors such as external sustainability ratings and commitments, corporate reporting practices and environmental and social stewardship.
SGS's high score is supported by its ambitious decarbonization target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, as verified by the Science Based Targets initiative. Additional factors include its implementation of energy efficiency projects, use of renewable energy for 97% of our total consumption, adherence to the UN Global Compact, inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook and recognition by CDP as a leading company. Moreover, SGS is committed to diversity, with 31.9% of leadership positions held by women.
Géraldine Picaud, CEO of SGS, commented:
“We are extremely honored to be recognized by TIME and Statista for our commitment to sustainability. This achievement rewards our strategy to integrate sustainable practices into every operation and action plan. Our Strategy 27 includes ambitious Corporate Sustainability targets and we aim to continue to lead by example by implementing the best practices for maximum sustainable impact.”
