What are you looking for?

Advanced Safety Testing

Reliable solutions that ensure the safety of your study participants.

Patient safety is your primary responsibility during clinical trials. To help you monitor the medical condition of study participants, we provide a portfolio of advanced safety testing solutions through our central laboratory. Whatever your need, we have a service to cover it.

  • Safety testing – routine hematology and biochemistry panels are performed using state-of-the-art technology that offers high sample throughput and economies of scale.

In addition to standard blood cell count and routine biochemistry, we provide a range of specialized tests, including bone markers (e.g., Vitamin D, CTX, ICTP, P1NP and Osteocalcin, endocrinology parameters, cardiac markers (e.g., Troponin I/T, CK-MB, NT-proBNP and hsCRP), diabetes-specific parameters (e.g., HbA1c, anti GAD, cPeptide and Proinsulin) and liver function parameters.
  • Coagulation testing – alongside the standard coagulation panel, PT, Quick and Thrombin time testing services, we also offer solutions for advanced coagulation parameters, maximum clot firmness (MCF), D-Dimer, fibrinogen, homocysteine, antithrombin activity, Factor II, V, VII, VIII, IX and von Willebrand factor. Many of these are already validated according to US Food and Drug Administration and/or European Medicines Agency guidelines (e.g., Factor VIII and von Willebrand factor).

Routine hematology, biochemistry and coagulation panels are also available as a 24/7 service for phase 1 or critical clinical trial with fast turnaround times for safety laboratory parameters.
  • Allergy testing – access over 150 established allergen testing solutions (IgG, IgE) at our central laboratory using the state-of-the-art Phadia system
  • Other immunological assays – complimentary to our allergen panels, we offer a range of immonological tests, including cytokines (over 250 available with many already established and validated), autoantibodies and anti-nuclear antibodies.
  • Pathology – we offer IHC and cytology services specializing in oncology, dermatology, gastrointestinal and gynecology via collaboration with our dedicated pathology laboratory
  • Biomarkers
  • Genetics
  • Peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC)

Examples of specific indicators

Our broad portfolio includes:

  • Anemia – besides routine hematology and biochemistry analysis we also test parameters like ferritin, folic acid, reticulocytes, transferrin, and vitamin B12. Our expertise also covers adapted blood sampling procedures and reduced sample volumes, e.g. for pediatric trials
  • Cardiovascular disorders – we cover regular cardiac markers like troponin I and T, CK-MB, NT-proBNP and hsCRP in addition to adiponectin, albumin in urine, lipoprotein and others
  • Oncology – to understand this diverse disease and effectively monitor the health of study participants you need access to a variety of laboratory tests, including a large cytokine panel, PBMC cell isolation, phenotyping analysis, genetic testing and IHC methods
  • Bleeding disorders – extend routine hematology and coagulation analysis with advanced coagulation panels consisting of, for example, Factors II, V, VII, VIII, IX or the von Willebrand factor, MCF, D-Dimer, fibrinogen, homocysteine, antithrombin activity and FDA validated IgG method
