Tanzania PVoC Updated and Demystified

Learn how Product Verification of Conformity certification with SGS can help you trade compliantly in Tanzania.

As the regulation of imported goods becomes more stringent, businesses trading internationally are under increasing pressure. Delays can be costly and conformity requirements are subject to change. Product Verification of Conformity (PVoC) certification is essential for exporters and importers to Tanzania, providing a regulated mechanism to protect public health as well as efficient trade. All regulated products exported to the country will need a PVoC Certification of Conformity (CoC) for customs clearance. Verification and testing will be done in the country of supply to demonstrate conformity with the applicable national standards, or approved equivalents and technical regulations.

SGS has been appointed by Tanzania’s Bureau of Standards to implement a 24-month PVoC program for the country, effective August 1, 2022. This webinar explains how, with help from SGS, the PVoC certification process can facilitate easy access to Tanzanian markets.

We will explore the background to PVoC, including discussion of banned and prohibited items, and we will focus on the program’s quality parameters and requirements. As a major service provider since the program’s inception, SGS now offers a digitized service that makes the process easy and accessible.
