Hardline product recalls in the EU increase by 60% on the previous quarter.
Hardline product recalls decreased by 24% in the USA in comparison with Q3 2021. In the EU, recalls of hardline products increased by 60%.
In the USA, 28 products were recalled. The top category for recalls was home furnishings and houseware – 12 recalls, with the main risk being cuts from different products.
The EU saw 422 recalls with the top category being toys, for which choking and chemical were the main risks. Food contact materials and personal protective equipment also saw an increase in recalls, 18% and 100% versus Q3, respectively.
