SGS has a presence in Ethiopia through its affiliate SGS Inspection, Certification and ICT Service PLC, located in Addis Ababa since April 2014.
Our core business is providing inspection services. We perform quality and quantity inspections for all goods exported from Ethiopia. We also conduct destination inspection, surveying, loading/unloading supervision and other related services.
As per the Ministry of Trade of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, all imported goods under the list of Mandatory Ethiopian Standards should be accompanied by a laboratory test certificate from an authorized ISO/IEC 17025 accredited third party inspection body. SGS is one of the third party inspection bodies accepted by the Ministry of Trade.
SGS is mandated by Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise (ECAE) to conduct Product Verification of Conformity for water pumps and accessories imported to Ethiopia.
We also have a presence in Djibouti, where we can provide services including inspections and sample picking.
