We are pleased to announce that we have awarded Kids' City and Super Fun Zone, part of Melco Resorts & Entertainment (Melco) with Hygiene Control Management Systems certification (SGS HCMS). Melco previously obtained SGS HCMS certification for Kids’ City at its City of Dreams resort in 2020. Studio City’s Super Fun Zone then underwent a successful third-party audit and achieved SGS HCMS certification in 2023, further demonstrating Melco’s commitment to providing hygienic facilities and implementing effective hygiene control management systems. This makes Melco the first, and currently the only integrated resort operator in Macau to have all of its children’s play facilities certified to HCMS.
Guests of honor including Ms. Doris Leong, Head of Training and Quality Management Department, Macao Government Tourist Office; Ms. Wong Weng Man, Acting Head of Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, Health Bureau of Government of Macao SAR, and Mr. Jack Chang, Deputy Director-General, Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, were welcomed to the event by Mr. Kevin Benning, Senior Vice President of Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Property General Manager of Studio City, Ms. Xana Lei, Director of Entertainment Development and Operations of City of Dream, Ms. Rachel Cheng, Senior Manager of Entertainment Operation of Studio City; and SGS Hong Kong's Ms. Miranda Kwan, Director of Business Assurance.
SGS HCMS prioritizes risk management, particularly in monitoring and preventing the spread of infectious diseases. To achieve certification, businesses must meet laboratory testing requirements for the hygiene environment and undergo rigorous onsite management system audits.
Ensuring strict levels of hygiene control at its children’s play facilities, where hygiene risks are relatively higher than at other facilities, to protect of guests and employees, is critical for Melco, which is committed to promoting Macau as a safe and healthy destination.
