France has made four changes to the nation’s list of standards for presumption of conformity with the regulation related to the safety of childcare articles.

On January 24, 2024, France issued the latest list of standards for presumption of conformity with Decree 91-1292 in relation to the prevention of risks arising from the use of childcare articles.

This latest list contains four changes when compared to the February 2023 list. (SafeGuardS 21/23)

It is important to note that car seats and carrycots falling under French Decrees of January 25 and 26, 1995, relating to the safety of child restraint systems for children in wheeled vehicles are also subject to Decree 91-1292 when they are used out of the vehicle as a reclined cradle or carry cot.

It is also worth mentioning that standards adopted by national standardization bodies of the Member States of the European Union, and state parties to the Agreement establishing the European Economic Area (EEA), or of Turkey, transposing the corresponding European standards, are recognized as equivalent.
